The storeitoffsite Backup Manager is equipped with a Continuous Data Protection (CDP) feature that keeps monitoring the changes made to the selected files and folders, and backs them up in real-time. In conjunction with our flexible Retention Policy, you'll never miss any changes made. The CDP feature in the backup manager is the most advanced version, allowing a user to define various parameters.
Backup incrementally whenever a change to a file is made
Every version of critical file is backed up close to real time
Consume very limited CPU resources, thus transparent to users
Real-time file protection tool for servers, desktops & laptops
Time Mark Interval
It defines a regular interval of time (e.g. every x minutes), with each interval containing one snapshot (the first backup of each interval) available for restore. For example, for [Time Mark Interval] set to 60 minutes, with the file updated every 5 minutes. A restore-able snapshot of the file will be available for each interval:
00:05, 01:05, 02:05, 03:05 ... etc.
Minimum Update Interval
It defines how often an updated file is backed up to the backup server. For example, for [Minimum Update Interval] set to [Always], the file will be backed up to the server as they are updated.
Backup file(s) selected by backup sources and filters
It is for selecting if CDP will only backup modified directories or files selected as backup source.
Backup all files
It is for selecting if CDP will back up all modified directories and files on all local drive.
A [Backup Filter] option is available for you to exclude matched or not matched patterns as defined.
It is for selecting if CDP will backup a custom set of directories and files. When this option is selected, you can define the Backup Source for CDP which is completed different to the backup source defined in the backup set. For example, the backup source for the backup set can be "C:\User" while the backup source for CDP can be "D:\Temp"
Do not backup files defined as system files
When this option is enabled, CDP will automatically exclude the following files from its backup:
C:\System Volume Information
*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\*
When this option is selected, the following window will be popped out, allowing you to access advanced CDP control:
- Backup when CPU usage is less than a specific percentage.
- Backup when network traffic is less than a specific Megabyte per second.
- Backup when keyboard or mouse has no input for over a specific time.
